Creativity
To paraphrase Kafka, Creativity is an axe for a frozen sea.
People stick to set patterns of thought, a little like a smoker who knows what he is doing is killing him but just can't seem to get out of the habit of lighting another to help him think about how to give up.
Somebody starting school today may retire in 2059. Can you imagine what the world will be like then? Sticking with what we know today is no longer sufficient for tomorrow. We already know that fresh thinking, creative thinking is required if you are to adapt and thrive in the near future, never mind 2059.
My process is clear; listen and observe carefully, be prepared to challenge, push the ideas boundaries then help get people to where they are comfortable with the proposed solutions. Turning problem solving into an enjoyable and energising process that provides long term gain and happiness is where I get my buzz.
I have been posed questions like, 'can you make our training fun?' 'Can you give us some ideas on how to motivate our staff?' 'I've got a presentation tomorrow - help!' ' My career feels stuck, so my boss recomended that I speak to you.' 'Can you give an entertaining talk on maximising potential?'
